The City of Mobile, the Downtown Parks Conservancy and stakeholders from across the community will celebrate Bienville Square's 200th Anniversary on Friday, May 24.
This Bicentennial Celebration will recognize the 200-year history of one of Mobile’s most beloved public spaces while also highlighting the recent renovations and improvements in Bienville Square. Mayor Sandy Stimpson, members of the Mobile City Council and community and private partners are inviting Mobilians to come out and join the celebration.
Beginning at 11 a.m., a brief presentation will be given about Bienville Square's history and the recent $3.2 million renovation led by the City of Mobile and the Downtown Parks Conservancy. We will also recognize some of the private partnerships that brought this vision to life.
After the representation, Mobilians are invited to stay to enjoy lunch in the park with live musical entertainment from guitarist Mark Habib until 1:30 p.m. Bring a blanket or a chair and grab lunch from one of the many great restaurants in Downtown Mobile. Frank N LoLa's food truck will also be parked at Bienville Square and Jefe Paletas will be offering delicious Mexican popsicles.
