Denton Magnet named A-Plus College Ready School of Distinction

Denton Magnet School of Technology is the only school in Alabama to be named an A-Plus College Ready School of Distinction.

This was Denton’s second year to participate in the A-Plus College Ready program, which prepares students for success on AP exams in high school and eventually in college. This award signifies that the school has exceeded its student growth goals for two years.

A-Plus College Ready provides teacher training, classroom materials, and incentives for students and teachers to succeed. With this award, every teacher at Denton will receive $500 and students who met achievement goals will receive a $50 gift card.

The 2024 cohort of eighth-graders at Denton improved their PSAT scores 18 percent over their seventh-grade scores, from 779 to 923. This means Denton’s students are on the right trajectory to be college ready when they graduate from high school.

Denton will be recognized by A-Plus in Tuscaloosa on June 10.
