STEM Mobile is hosting a free STEM Fest on April 20, 2024, from 9 am to noon at the Mobile Convention Center (1 S. Water Street). This event, which is co-sponsored by the Mobile Parks and Recreation Department, is FREE and open to the public.
Students in grades K-12 will have the opportunity to design, build, and engage with 60 different STEM activities, including making elephant toothpaste and slime, watching a live sheep heart dissection, riding a hovercraft, and building rockets. Throughout the morning, the students will learn about things like wind and solar energy, coding, designing, and programming robots. Participants will also be able to build and test their own battery-powered cars. All materials will be provided. This event is also an excellent opportunity for students to innovate and create alongside with STEM professionals.
Since its founding in 2013, STEM NOLA, STEM Global Action’s flagship affiliate, has engaged more than 155,000 students, 22,000 families, and 5,000 schools. Over the last several years they’ve partnered with MPRD to host several awesome events in the City of Mobile.
